The University of Applied Sciences – HFT Stuttgart commissioned architecture studio ERNST2 to build an annex building to house the new headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Stuttgart. The German architects planned the project as an extension but with a contemporary style.

The University of Applied Sciences is located in the center of Stuttgart, the „City of Architects“. It is a university with a national reputation that unifies all the multidisciplinary skills of construction in one place. The system offers undergraduate courses in architecture, interior architecture, urban planning and project management, where students receive a sound knowledge of design, technology and organization.

The new Faculty of Architecture of the University of Stuttgart was thought of as a quadrilateral in which functionality and spaces were adapted to the needs of students. In the large and spacious classrooms that combine several and sober materials, Enea’s Lottus and Ema chairs stand out. All of them in rigorous white and combining, according to the classroom, the versions of chair with wheels or with a skid base.

The Lottus office chair is a program of functional and comfortable chairs made with injected polypropylene shells and lacquered tube metal structures. Enea’s Ema chair is a seating program characterized by its high stackability, lightness and functionality, in addition to the use of high-tech materials, light and resistant, following the parameters of Ecodesign.

Both are chairs that, thanks to its design and functionality, adapt to different types of public facilities, including universities.
