The Lord’s Cricket Ground, better known as the Lord’s (after its founder, Thomas Lord), is the cricket stadium located at St John’s Wood in the City of Westminster in London. With a capacity for 30,000 spectators, it is recognized as the “Cricket Cathedral” and its Press Room, designed by Future Systems, has been completely renovated in 2017.

After nearly two decades in operation, the J.P. Morgan Media Centre at the Lord’s Stadium, winner of the Stirling Prize in 1999, needed to be refurbished to meet today’s technical and functional needs. This is why David Miller Architects was asked to redesign the new space dedicated to the press.

The new project was to increase the areas for journalists and photographers, to change the transmission spaces for TV and radio and to relocate the bar, among other services. After this remodeling, the internal area for all these services was increased a 15%.

For this purpose, the architects drew on the experience of Momentum Cardiff, who are experts in advising on contemporary furniture for public, contract and residential spaces, in order to prescribe and supply the most appropriate furniture to equip the new Media Centre. In this project, they provided ENEA’s Lottus chairs and stools.

The colección Lottus, designed by Lievore Altherr Molina, were selected by Momentum Cardiff to equip the new J.P. Morgan Media Centre, located in the area where journalists and photographers peek into the field.

Lottus is a collection with an elegant design. A comfortable and fresh seat that already occupies an important space in contemporary furniture, and a collection designed to offer functionality and versatility.

Note to readers: Cricket is a popular sport in the British Commonwealth of Nations and a mass sport in the Indian subcontinent.
