The Lottus Conference, in Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura

The Enea’s chair was raffled by Habic among the architects and interior designers who participated in a survey about BIM files

Habic, the Cluster of the Sector of Equipment, Wood and Design of the Basque Country, has organized several informational meetings to discuss the importance of BIM files in the sectors of Architecture and Design where we have participated. So much so, that in Enea we gave a Lottus Conference chair away to the cluster so they could raffle it among the sixty architects, interior designers and engineers that participated in a survey on the use of those files. Finally, the chair was won by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, a renowned studio that has carried out well-known projects around the world.

The BIM files are very important ones, more and more since they facilitate the correct integration of the furniture in the different projects. In fact, the survey carried out by Habic showed that 100% of the studios that work in the international field use them and, among those of our country that still do not, the majority plans to do it within 2-3 years.

BIM supposes the evolution of traditional design systems based on plans and its use goes beyond the design phases, covering the execution of the project and extending throughout the evolution of planning and construction of a building, allowing to improve the management and to reduce costs. In addition, a BIM file can contain a large amount of information such as a realistic 3D model, technical information and access to certificates, parameterization of the file, price information, direct contact with the manufacturer… All this information is so valued by the architects. In fact, one of the respondents pointed out: “If I had the products of a company in Revit with certificates or guarantees of quality, I would use them in all my works”.

Because of all this, in Enea we are very aware that we must adapt to the needs of the market, and since last November we are making these files available for architects and interior designers in the download area of our website.
